Chair Sponsorship

Thames Youth Orchestra's chair sponsorship scheme was set-up at the start of 2011, with the intention of allowing leavers' parents, friends of the orchestra and other benefactors to make a contribution to its running and have more of a personal connection with the orchestra. The scheme was initiated by Professor Peter Toyne, head of the orchestra's Board of Trustees, and his wife Angela, who sponsored the Leader's chair for £500. Chair sponsors are invited to suggest an appropriate financial contribution for a vacant chair, and are recognised in concert programmes for their generosity.
